Who We are
2inspire Academy was initially set up in March 2013. The Directors of 2inspire Academy CIC are Mother and Son, Hazel Chawapiwa and Taurai Ajayi. Taurai was the inspiration behind the formation of 2inspire Academy, which was initially formed to help him and his friends ( who were teenagers at the time) to understand the importance of taking responsibility for their own development as a few of the individuals in the group found it difficult to find genuine opportunities to support their progression. The Academy was a platform to bring these young people together to provide them with the advice, guidance, resources, knowledge, education, experience and wisdom to help themselves and also other young people outside of their group. The idea was that these young people would be involved in the creation, planning, production, promotion, fundraising and management of events and projects so as to develop them as Individuals, particularly in areas of Leadership and Management. It was also to help them to make progress with their careers and plans for life.
In 2015 due to the success of the projects that were run since the Academy formed, the Academy went through the process of converting to a Community Interest company. As a CIC 2inspire Academy expanded its objects in order to deliver projects and programmes to more identified target groups such as young parents, children from low income families, women in business. etc.
Due to the impact of Covid and the ill health of one of the Directors 2inspire Academy ceased operations between 2020-2022. In March of 2022 it relaunched with a realigned vision and determination to make a wider impact. As well as delivering events and projects in the community, 2inspire Academy widened its support by offering a consultancy service that supports individuals and organisations to start-up, develop or strengthen their community work. They can now assist in the formation of a CIC model, project, event planning and fundraising, click on Consultancy Services for a full list of the services .
The scope for the development of 2inspire Academy is strengthened by the newly re-formed advisory boards that consists of adults and young people that help to steer the direction of organisation and will be instrumental as they will provide current knowledge, critical thinking and analysis to increase the confidence of the decision makers.

Over the years 2inspire Academy has engaged and built sustainable relationships with a broad spectrum of philanthropic professionals, entrepreneurs, organisations, local authorities, community leaders and inspirational individuals to help it to achieve its aims and objectives. Organisations that have funded, commissioned or supported their projects to date can be viewed on funders and supporters page.
